Lycée ORT, Strasbourg

ORT Strasbourg is unique amongst the French ORT colleges because it consists of a high school, a college and a university. These institutions cater for 500 pupils and students – primarily from France, Morocco, Spain and Israel.

ORT first opened its school in Strasbourg in 1946, teaching mechanics, electrical engineering, dressmaking and ironwork.

Nowadays, the campus comprises three different buildings: the high school – a historic Jewish school; the college and the university, including a kosher restaurant and student apartments.

ORT Strasbourg has developed a strong fashion and textile design partnership with ORT Moscow Technology College. Since 2010, students from Moscow and Strasbourg visit each other on alternate years with the purpose of expanding their knowledge and experience of fashion and textile design.

BAC STI2D (Science, Technology, Industry & Sustainable Development) Digital Information Systems

This course develops students’ skills in analyzing and creating technical solutions to deal with information flow (voice, data and image). It covers how to handle information, how to develop virtual systems, and how to transmit information. The course focuses on new technologies and environmentally sustainable practices. It provides a solid basis for progressing to higher levels of study.

BAC STI2D (Science, Technology, Industry & Sustainable Development) Energy & Environment

This course develops students’ skills in analyzing and creating technical solutions to deal with issues related to energy. It covers how to take into account the energy efficiency of systems and their effect on the environment. The course focuses on new technologies and environmentally sustainable practices. It provides a solid basis for progressing to higher levels of study.

BAC STMG (Science, Technology & Management) Accounting & Corporate Finance

This is a preparatory course for entry into more advanced commercial studies. It has a strong focus on management and ICT.

Applied Arts

This course serves as a springboard to jobs in art and design. It helps students to develop the necessary skills for joining a short term university program in design or taking an art school entrance test. The four areas of teaching on the course are fashion, communication, product and space.

Higher and specialized mathematics preparatory classes

This is a two-year high level mathematics preparatory course for entering one of the highly prestigious French Grandes Ecoles.

BTS Dispensing Optician

This diploma produces specialists in sight and vision. It gives graduates the skills to either become an optician or manage an optical shop.

BTS Fashion & Textile Design

This fashion-oriented diploma serves as a springboard to jobs in creative design. It teaches fluency in artistic language, related technical subjects and communication issues.

BTS International Commerce

This course is compatible with other similar European courses, and its purpose is to develop professionals dealing with trade, imports, exports and marketing. Graduates of the course are able to conduct market research and foster positive relationships with potential new clients.
