Associate in Electrical Engineering

This course trains students to design and build a range of electronic equipment, as well as how to install structured cabling networks, telephony and electronic alarms.

Specifically, the course covers the following areas:

  • designing, budgeting and carrying out electrical installations in new homes and small commercial settings
  • diagnosing and repairing faults in electrical systems
  • designing, budgeting, implementing and repairing both indoor and outdoor lighting systems
  • working closely with architectural firms to offer qualified on-site installation
  • installing and programming telephone exchange
  • designing and installing electronic security systems
  • safety regulations in buildings, especially those relating to personal safety and preventing the spread of smoke and flames
  • representing the electronics industry in a sales context
