Associate in Electrical Engineering
This course trains students to design and build a range of electronic equipment, as well as how to install structured cabling networks, telephony and electronic alarms.
Specifically, the course covers the following areas:
- designing, budgeting and carrying out electrical installations in new homes and small commercial settings
- diagnosing and repairing faults in electrical systems
- designing, budgeting, implementing and repairing both indoor and outdoor lighting systems
- working closely with architectural firms to offer qualified on-site installation
- installing and programming telephone exchange
- designing and installing electronic security systems
- safety regulations in buildings, especially those relating to personal safety and preventing the spread of smoke and flames
- representing the electronics industry in a sales context
