Kiryat Yam, Yitzchak Rabin Junior High & High School
World ORT Kadima Mada has been supporting the town of Kiryat Yam in the northern periphery of Israel, near Haifa, since the organization’s inception ten years ago. Rabin High School belongs to World ORT Kadima Mada’s educational network ‘Educating for Life’ and serves approximately 1,400 local youngsters of all abilities, aged 12-18 years old in its junior and senior high schools.

The Rabin School in Kiryat Yam was established as part of Mayor Sisso’s educational vision to create a different and improved educational model in Kiryat Yam. The school serves grade 7-12, with approximately 150 students per grade. The student body is composed of Kiryat Yam residents who are primarily Israeli-born from immigrant families.
The school strives to develop students who are independent, knowledgeable, well-rounded, creative and proactive members of the community. It aims to help each student realise their personal and academic potential, achieving at the highest level they are able. As a result, the school provides personalised attention, education and varied teaching methods based on the needs of the individual student. Students graduate with a strong national identity and connection with Israel, together with a deeply-held respect for all individual and communities.
The number of participants on the school’s “etudaim” program is higher than the national average, owing to the school’s Gifted Program and the psychometric exams that are taken at the school. These students are accepted into the Technion and other universities.
