ORT in Spain
ORT's work in Spain is based out of two schools that are central to Jewish education and cultural life, each with its own unique history and approach to learning - the Centro Ibn Gabirol - Colegio Estrella Toledano, Madrid and Colegio Hatikva, Barcelona.

Centro Ibn Gabirol - Colegio Estrella Toledano, Madrid
Centro Ibn Gabirol - Colegio Estrella Toledano, founded in 1965 by the Jewish Community of Madrid, is the cornerstone of Jewish education in the capital. A charter school combining public and private funding, it offers the Spanish national curriculum alongside Jewish studies, Hebrew language, and a strong connection to Israel. Since joining the ORT network in 2017, it has integrated innovative teaching, multilingual education, and extensive extracurricular activities, while fostering academic excellence, cultural pride, and social responsibility.
Colegio Hatikva, Barcelona
Colegio Hatikva, founded in 1968, has been a pillar of Jewish education for over five decades. Located in Catalonia, it offers a trilingual curriculum in Spanish, Catalan, and English, with Hebrew integrated throughout. Known for its inclusive and supportive environment, it blends the Spanish national curriculum with project-based learning, multilingual education, and Jewish heritage programs. Strong community values and a commitment to Tikkun Olam shape the student experience.
