Chernivtsi Lyceum "ORT" #15

Founded on September 16, 1991, Chernivtsi Lyceum "ORT" #15 began as a Jewish secondary school with just 127 students and 7 classes. Since signing a cooperation memorandum with ORT in 2010, the School has grown into a respected educational and cultural institution in the region. As of 2024, the Lyceum hosts 362 students across 12 classes—including four inclusive classrooms—and is supported by 31 teachers and 15 staff members.

The Lyceum follows Ukraine’s national education standards, enriched with STEM and Jewish educational components. It has become a center for both academic excellence and Jewish cultural revival, with programs that engage not only students but also families and the broader community. Despite the challenges of war, including the displacement of 40 of the School’s students abroad, the School remains fully operational and committed to quality education, innovation, and intergenerational learning.

All students learn Jewish subjects, including Hebrew (grades 1–11), Jewish traditions and history (grades 1–11), Jewish literature (grades 10–11), and Holocaust history (grades 10–11), making it the only school in Chernivtsi offering these classes at this depth.

The Lyceum actively participates in international programs such as Cambridge English and School Twinning, and its teachers serve as trainers at the Chernivtsi Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education.

Academic excellence is reflected in student achievements at national and international competitions, Olympiads, and Jewish educational initiatives.

Jewish Experience
