Electronics Engineering Undergraduate
This program prepares engineers with the ability to specify, design, operate and maintain electronic systems in the most varied fields of application, such as control, instrumentation, power, audio, telecommunications, digital signal processing and consumer electronics.
The flexible curriculum provides comprehensive education in engineering sciences, the fundamentals of electronic devices and their use in analog and digital systems. It emphasizes the study of techniques, analysis tools and synthesis procedures used for the creation of new designs. Students learn in depth about the applications of micro-controllers and dedicated systems, industrial control, power electronics and digital signal processing.
Students may choose electives in the areas of business management, computers or electronics, to align their training profile to their professional direction. They may participate in research groups, teaching assistantships and special projects. The program also includes a period of supervised work experience in a professional environment.
Graduates of this program go on to:
- occupy management positions in companies where electronics is of strategic importance
- manage multidisciplinary teams in fields such as medicine, biology, chemistry, industrial control and computing
- serve as independent consultants or start their own business in different areas, such as control, industrial and analytical instrumentation, power devices, and audio, video and electronic communications
