BSc in International Studies

The BSc in International Studies is a degree program aimed at students who are interested in the overall study of the contemporary world, including subjects such as trends in diplomacy, trade between nations, foreign policy, tourism and international journalism.

The academic program consists of a multidisciplinary curriculum that combines several areas of knowledge including: political science, economics, law, business, languages, statistics, communication skills, negotiating skills and research methodology. A set of elective courses covers three areas: international business, diplomacy and international relations, and area studies. To obtain their degree, students must pass 33 compulsory subjects, four workshops, a monograph, an internship and four electives.

The Bachelor of International Studies offers the possibility of an international semester at a university with which ORT has established an agreement. Knowledge and skills gained from the degree are applicable in political and social sciences, international trade, international law, economics and marketing, among others. Graduates of the BSc in International Studies become professionals with a strong capacity for the diagnosis of complex international phenomena and their political, economic, social, commercial and legal aspects, which are needed for the analysis, understanding and management of international relations. They have sufficient legal knowledge to conduct commercial negotiations between companies and diplomatic negotiations between countries. Their management skills enable them to take up management positions in multinational corporations.
