This Bachelor program is aimed at people with a strong inclination for computers and business administration. It aims to train professionals who can understand the use of information technology in organizations and the role of computer systems in business management.

The flexible curriculum content and the possibility of choosing elective courses and the topic for their final project mean that students can customize their academic and professional education in various fields of specialization, such as software engineering, telematics, telecommunications and management.

Core topics include software engineering, programming, systems architecture, algorithms and data structures, application design, databases, operating systems, logic and discrete mathematics, accounting systems, general management and organizational behavior, operations management, audit and security, finance, business strategy and information systems.

This program prepares professionals who are able to:

• work in the national and regional market as computer consultants, project managers or systems managers
• identify organizational and technological features that can increase companies' and organizations' competitiveness and productivity
• analyze, design and implement computer systems, organizational restructures and quality plans
• work in multidisciplinary teams with other professionals and carry out research projects

The BSc in Information Systems is the only study program in Uruguay aimed at the training of professionals in the field of Management Information Systems (MIS).
