The Medical Office Management Associate Degree teaches students the skills they need to work in the front or back office of health care institutions, hospitals, clinics, medical offices or health maintenance organizations. Students learn about medical terminology, medical billing, medical insurance and coding, medical records and clinical skills. Medical anatomy and physiology are also covered to provide students with a broader understanding of the human body as it relates to clinical procedures.
An internship at the end of the program enables students to put into practice what they have learnt. In addition, practical management skills sessions provide students with the confidence needed to interact with and manage other employees in an office setting.
